My previous post was about the Elucent Whitening Skincare range and I adored that range and would recommend it to anyone with the same skin issues as I have - hyperpigmentation. While I still have some visible hyperpigmentation, my main concern has shifted to wrinkles and how to slow it down if I can't prevent it. So I reached out to Elucent and they have sent me their Anti-Ageing range to try and try I did.
I won't bore with details about the range. You can all read it here - Link! - But what I want to share is my first week experience of using it.
I am 36 yrs old and I have visible fine and hard lines around my eyes, forehead (frown lines!) and around my mouth. I have combination skin - dry cheeks and mildly oily T-zone.
What are my thoughts on each of the product i tried?
Cleanser: it has that gel-like consistency and it smells divine, in fact this whole range smells better then the whitening one. This doesn't take all my makeup off so I still have to do my usual makeup remover then this cleanser. On the first few days, my skin felt drier than usual but on Day 4 it started feeling like my normal skin again.
Eye Cream: So far so good. I have this thing with eye creams, I am very hard to please. Partly because I don't know what I really want out of it and partly because I haven't been amazed by a brand/product. But as I've said, this cream is doing well so far. It's not thick nor greasy. It soaks in the skin well. Keeps my under eye hydrated and it is a good base for my concealer.
Day Cream: this is the one I had to adjust to the most. With the whitening range, the day cream was stickier and it takes a little while to absorb on the skin. It was a grease-fest (the good kind). And I am used to that very emollient feel to the skin.
With the Anti-Ageing range it's lighter and it sinks to the skin faster. The first few days of using it my skin felt dry but after about Day 4, it started feeling hydrated and normal again. I was told that this is a new formula with a much higher SPF 50 in it. Me likey!
Night Cream: this is divine to the skin. It's similar to the whitening range on how rich and smooth it feels on the skin and it is definitely not a man-repeller kind of cream.
Body Moisturiser: this is heaven sent to my legs. I've tried lots of body creams and my problem area are my legs - they are always and then this bad boy happen. I solely use this cream on my legs and I would happily purchase this just for my legs. My legs are marrying this cream.
Overall experience on the First Week of use
As this range has AHAs, I followed the suggested timetable of when to introduce the products on your skin. Luckily, my skin reacted OK.
This range causes some mild stinging and itching on initial use. I experience those when I first use the cleanser (and on every product introduction) but now it's all just mild-to-no stinging that goes away as quickly as it came on. It wasn't the burning kind either so I wasn't too alarmed.
The first few days my skin felt drier. My makeup of choice had to be changed to accommodate the change. But then on Day 4, it's turned normal again. The natural oils are back at the end of the day kind of normal. It didn't break me out so that's a plus.
I haven't used the Serum just yet as it has the highest concentration of AHA in it. Sometimes I want to just bust it open but it's my face we're talking so I'll follow the timeline.
My skin is very smooth and it's only been 7 days.
For the first week, this range is LOVE.
Why Elucent you ask?
I love the brand. When I tried their whitening range I didn't have much expectations because the brand is new but they performed so well my skin's texture is better than when I was in my 20s.
Here's hoping the Anti-Ageing range is going to be a staple.
I will be back for another review on the 2 week mark and final one on 21 day mark.
I hope you are all well!
