We've reached the last installation of my Top/Favourite Matte Lipsticks! Hooray!
1) It's so creamy/buttery on application but sets matte
2) It's long lasting and to a point that it can be budge proof unless you drink or eat
3) The pigmentation is amazing
4) The sugar scent is heavenly - it can be sickeningly sweet to some but I enjoy it.
5) The applicator makes the difference - application is a dream
6) Cheap as
This shade is a beautiful raspberry (or magenta) that is welcome any season in my books. I did take a lip swatch photo this morning but I couldn't get the right balance so the shade looked more like hot pink than the photo below which was taken last year. The photo below is more true in colour.
Note: My photo shoots for this blog are all based on the natural light coming through my windows so it's kinda hard to always capture the true shade. I don't really edit my photos in Photoshop aside from the usual "crop" that's why I am not very popular with the Husband when it comes to taking photos for my blog. #rambleover
And to end my When I Matte You series, let's all admire the one and only dark berry lipstick that I always reach for when Autumn starts. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you - Chi Chi Cosmetics Viva La Diva Matte in Turn Me On. I've tried a few of the vampy-kind lipsticks and only this shade of berry makes me happy.
I love matte lipsticks. I think they are classic. The challenge is looking for a formula that is moisturising to the lips. I strongly suggest the use of a lip balm to prep your lips over night or just before application just to remove the dry skin. Matte finish on dry lips is borderline annoying.
I am looking forward to new nude/rosey matte shades from the Maybelline Creamy Matte that is soon to come out. No dates because their PR won't tell me anything but I know they are coming.
Hope you are all well.
If you've managed to read through all the 3 parts of this post then THANK YOU very much xx
